On 18.04. we had the pleasure of presenting the latest edition of the Games&Politics <\/strong>series live on Twitch<\/strong> together with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.<\/strong> Under the title “Vote for Europe”<\/strong>, the focus was on topics such as esports and gaming in Europe<\/strong>, highlighting the diverse potential of these areas.<\/p>\n In three exciting panel talks<\/strong>, our guests offered valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges<\/strong> of esports and gaming in Europe<\/strong>. They emphasized how these platforms are not just for entertainment, but also offer a unique opportunity<\/strong> to impart knowledge about history,<\/strong> culture<\/strong> and political contexts<\/strong>. Gaming and esports thus represent an easily accessible international communication platform<\/strong> that connects people across borders and promotes mutual understanding.<\/p>\n Numerous relevant topics were addressed during the livestream. The resistance of gamers to disinformation<\/strong> was discussed, as were the possibilities of using gaming to make political action<\/strong> more comprehensible<\/strong>. Strategies and hopes for the future of European esports<\/strong> were also discussed. This variety of topics shows the enormous potential<\/strong> that lies in the combination of gaming, esports and politics.<\/p>\n A particular highlight of the event was the great moderation by Jona “LPGJustJohnny” Schmitt<\/strong>, which gave the discussions a lively and stimulating dynamic. The participants Theres Modl, Kim-Noemi Adam, Anika Wolter, Tobias Scholz, Adri\u00e1n Pad\u00edn Su\u00e1rez <\/strong>and Manouchehr Shamsrizi<\/strong> contributed their different perspectives and expertise and thus enriched the show format considerably.<\/p>\n We would like to thank the Konrad Adenauer Foundation<\/strong> for its partnership and cooperation.
