The Equal eSports Initiative is growing

The esports player foundation is pleased to announce another milestone in the Equal eSports initiative. With the addition of the popular game Valorant, we continue our mission to provide a platform for women and non-binary talent to develop their passion and skills in the esports world. This expansion follows the successful launches of League of Legends in 2021 and Brawl Stars in 2022.

Valorant: A strategic step towards promoting inclusivity

Valorant is more than just another title in our promotional program. It is a strategically important step that fits perfectly with our mission. The game already has an established global competitive system that is specifically open to women and non-binary players. This provides an excellent foundation for our initiative to grow organically and further increase visibility for these groups. The Valorant community is characterized by a high participation of female and non-binary players, which encourages us to pursue this path.

Application phase and talent camp

Players from all over Europe can apply for one of the 22 coveted scholarships until July 13. The most promising talents will then be selected and invited to our Equal eSports Online Talent Camp. This event will be broadcast live on Twitch at the end of July so that the general public can experience the next generation of esports talent up close.

Our vision: more inclusive and diverse esports

With the addition of Valorant, we are taking another big step towards a more inclusive and diverse esports landscape. Our goal remains to give all talent – regardless of gender or gender identity – the opportunity to realize their dream of a successful career in esports. We look forward to discovering and nurturing the next generation of players.
