Hello Marc, your first split with the Diamonds has come to an end. What was your highlight of the season?

To name one highlight is hardly enough to describe this split. The split started with two superweeks. We were able to show how well we work as a team right from the start and were rewarded for our intensive pre-season preparations. Another highlight was certainly the 3:0 win against Austrian Force Willhaben in the Upper Bracket final.

How would you sum up your time so far? Have you achieved your short-term goals? Are there any long-term goals that you would like to achieve?

We achieved a lot in the last split and probably more than anyone expected. But the real grind is just beginning for us. We are very happy with 2nd place, but we want to move up and anything else would be a disappointment. To achieve this, we have to do even better than before.

Why don’t you explain a little about the team structure? How does the team work together and how would you describe your role?

We are a very balanced team and harmonize almost perfectly. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, which we balance out together. I always create a good atmosphere, so I bring the fun and can always cheer the team up after defeats. It’s certainly similar to the role of a “class clown”, there has to be one of these people in every team. When we play together, I take over the implementation of our very aggressive identity. I have a very good feel for how aggressive we can be and can assess our limits very well.

What makes the team or the project so special for you?

On the one hand, it’s the players and the staff, and on the other, it’s the environment. It’s a great honor for me to be able to play with such strong, talented players and a unique team atmosphere. Furthermore, we receive unique support from the esports player foundation, which supports us in all things. This gives us a unique opportunity to develop in the best possible way. I am very grateful for that!

Let’s look at the split again as a complete story. What feelings come up in you? Do you feel proud of your deep playoff run or are you mourning the defeat in the final?

I’m happy, but also sad. Happy about how we developed and fought our way through the split. But also sad that we couldn’t crown this great season with a win.

Your challenge for the next split?
