We look back on a great and so far unique weekend!

Last weekend we were live on Twitch with the 1st qualifier for the Equal Esports Cup. The Equal Esports Cup is Europe’s largest tournament for women and non-binary players.
With the Cup, together with Deutsche Telekom, Riot Games and SK Gaming, we are pursuing the goal of creating an inclusive and diverse community in which every person, regardless of gender, origin, sexual orientation or background, has the opportunity to develop in esports. We want to break down barriers and create a platform where talent is seen, encouraged and recognized.

Each of the 4 qualifiers is divided into an Open and a Closed Qualifier. A total of 22 teams and thus more than 100 players took part in the 1st qualifier. 10 teams registered for the Open Qualifier, including NNO and the Unicorns of Love. The best 4 teams of the Open Qualifier qualified for the Closed Qualifier, which was broadcast on Saturday and Sunday in 4 different languages and in more than 10 livestreams on Twitch. After intense and thrilling matches, G2 Esports Hel beat the defending champions Berlin International Gaming | BIG Chroma in the final.

In the coming months, all teams will have the opportunity to collect valuable points in 3 further qualifiers. The 4 teams that have collected the most points after all qualifiers will then play the big offline final in September at the Equal Esports Festival Vol.3.

A big thank you to all the facilitators, players and teams. Together, we have shown that esports can be a place where equal opportunities and inclusion are realized. At the same time, we are particularly proud that 10 Professional Prime League teams and 4 LEC teams have joined our common mission.
