70 applications, 2 talent camps but only 4 make it into the team
After more than 70 applications, 2 talent camps in Xperion Cologne and Berlin with 10 talents each and 4 maps played with many intense duels, the final talent camp of the Xperion NXT team took place last weekend.
We have now selected the 4 most promising talents from the 10 most talented applicants. The 5th place in the team is occupied by our player coach, who will play alongside the talents as an important mentor.
Jan “Jansen” Westerheide: Jan will take on the role of player coach. He can build on many years of experience as a player and coach in the ESL championship.
With the team, we want to create long-term opportunities for talented players and pave the way for them to become world-class players. Our task is therefore to provide them with important routines for their lives in addition to training them as players. The talented players received their first “lesson” in sports psychology workshops, because a career at world level involves much more than just playing computers.
Players who have made it onto the Xperion NXT team
- Youness “Sheezy” Moussa: He is the brother of the greatest German CS:GO talent Karim “Krimbo” Moussa, who plays for BIG at major level. After finishing school, he now wants to follow in his brother’s footsteps. Our experts believe he has every chance of doing so.
- Robert “Rhyzar” Van Treeck: The 16-year-old from Cologne is the big unknown. He didn’t appear in any rankings before the event, but he impressed the experts with his great potential.
- Lucas “tlx” Fischbach: At 19, he is the oldest of the talents, but he emerged as the best player at all events.
- Fynn “statikS” Szusdziara: Probably the most difficult decision, as the competition was strongest in his position. After a lengthy discussion, we opted for Finn.
In the fall, the team will then compete in the 3rd Division of the ESL Championship, with the aim of moving up to the 1st Division as quickly as possible.
