The Equal eSports talent promotion program is entering its third year. After Deutsche Telekom AG made it possible to support 10 players in the first year, we were able to support 18 talented players in the second year. And in the third year, we will also be able to increase the funding volume and will support 22 players who identify as women or non-binary over the next 12 months.
After an online tryout and the talent camp at Deutsche Telekom AG’s headquarters in Bonn, a total of 48 players from 15 different countries made it to the final selection. The 22 players who have now been selected come from 11 different European countries. In addition to the usual hotspots (Spain, France & Scandinavia), players from Eastern Europe were also selected for the first time this year, including Poland, Slovenia & Bulgaria. For us, this is an incredibly important sign of the ongoing internationalization of the initiative.
Telekom made it possible for 30 players to enjoy a unique weekend that they will not forget in a hurry.
