Hardly any contact points for up-and-coming esports talent

More than 100 young esports players are currently competing in the Virtual Bundesliga alone, but what about the many talented newcomers who don’t know what to do with themselves? For some, amateur tournaments may have been the first step into esports, while others network in clubs or only find access through their studies and the student-organized esports scene. The one place to go to have your skills assessed and get the attention of the big teams is missing. Something where we and MediaMarktSaturn want to create a strong additional offering with the NXT Gen Academy.

Next Gen Academy: The first big esports stage for many

With the MediaMarktSaturn NXT Gen Academy, we are not only giving young esports talents a range of powerful tools to develop, but also the all-important visibility they need to be discovered. The NXT Gen Academy is therefore one of the most promising paths into professional esports.

The NXT Gen Academy will offer the 32 best young talents the opportunity to compete against each other in two tournament series in EA FC 25. Each of these series will conclude with an offline final at one of MediaMarktSaturn’s three German XPERION locations. With the NXT Gen Academy, MediaMarktSaturn, XPERION and we as the esports player foundation are taking another important step towards supporting the next generation of esports players in Germany. We are once again underlining the relevance and importance of the NXT cosmos as THE contact point for young talent and building a bridge between ambitious young esports talent and the professional clubs.
