The Brawl Stars World Championship - NXT's Journey in 2025

It was only in February of this year that Team XPERION NXT—a joint project between the esports player foundation and XPERION—assembled a roster for the mobile game Brawl Stars. At that time, no one could have imagined just how successful the team would become beyond European competitions.

The Performance in Brazil

XPERION NXT—comprising Arthur (16) from Austria and Spaniards Amos (19) and Rup (19)—faced two top-tier teams in the group stage of the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ).

XPERION NXT suffered 3-1 losses to both Casa Brawl from South America and Rival Esports from Singapore—both of which have already qualified for the World Championship.

Despite the losses, the team showed promise, gained valuable international experience, and proved that it rightfully belongs among the most exciting up-and-coming European teams in Brawl Stars Esports.

How does the BSC work?

The Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) is an additional opportunity for teams that were unable to qualify directly for the World Championship based on points or rankings. In this tournament, they compete for four spots in the World Championship as well as a total prize pool of $50,000.

The LCQ is open to teams that have earned enough Championship Points in the regional Monthly Finals throughout the year but did not automatically secure a direct spot in the World Finals.

Arthur - the road to Pro

At the age of 14, Arthur joined the esports player foundation, determined to one day compete at the highest level. Two years later, the 16-year-old Austrian has achieved exactly that: in his first season, he impressed with strong performances and significant progress.

From the very beginning, Arthur has worked tirelessly on his game—analyzing matches, actively seeking ways to improve, and demonstrating impressive mental maturity. This discipline has made him one of the most promising young players in Europe.

His journey shows how consistent hard work and support from the EPF can propel young talent to the top of Brawl Stars esports.

The NXT steps

For XPERION NXT, an eventful season in the year’s main competition is coming to a close. Following strong performances on the international stage and their current third-place standing in the EMEA League, Arthur, Amos, and Rup are looking to the future with optimism. The EMEA League could be the last major competition of 2025, while some teams will still be competing in the World Championship at the end of November.

The past few months—featuring tournaments against world-class teams from South America, Asia, and Europe—have been a valuable experience for the young team. They learned to play under pressure, improve their communication, and stay calm in crucial moments. It is precisely these experiences that are crucial for establishing themselves in professional esports in the long term.
